Sivers Auction Service was started in 1963 as a family run business by Ted and his mother, Stevie. Both graduated from Reisch American School of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa.

Stevie had been an antiques dealer since the early 1940's and brought a great deal of knowledge and experience in that field. Ted was recently graduated from Cornell University. Charles Sivers, Stevie's husband and Ted's father, ran a large commercial building available that had been the milk processing plant and it was renovated into the present day auction hall at 7112 State Route 104 in Oswego, New York.

The auction hall is a clean, well lighted facility that seats 160 people and is often crowded well beyond with standing room only. It has rest rooms and a lunch room as well as an adequate area for display of the merchandise being sold.

The auction service is fully computerized and uses the latest software programs for auction management. It allows for a rapid registration of buyers and quick check out with clear and accurate invoices.

The auction service was started with an emphasis on selling antiques on a consignment basis. It quickly branched into household goods and furnishings as well. Over the years, it has expanded to include auction sales of store inventory, farm equipment, vehicles, garage tools, auto dealerships, municipal surplus, and real estate. Today, we provide our services in the auction gallery or on the sale premises of the owner, using tents, portable restrooms, a lunch trailer, and our state of the art computer system.

Although Charles and Stevie have since passed away, we are still a family-oriented business. Ted is the auctioneer and his wife, Pat, manages the sale set-up and cashiering. Their son, TC, manages the merchandise handling. We depend on a number of loyal part-time employees, some who have been with us for 15 - 20 years, to help us provide smooth running and efficient auctions.

We are very proud of the fact that we have an excellent reputation for well organized, honest operated sales that provide our sellers with maximum market return and our buyers with fairly represented merchandise in an exciting and fun filled venue.
